What future do you see for yourself in the ACWGC?
Once you have completed your studies here at the ACWGC Training Campus you will be a full-fledged Member of the ACWGC. You will also be given a commission within one of our fine Armies in the field and are free to game as much as you would like. As you enter the Club as a Member we hope you look back at your time here as both fun and instructional. Our site was designed with an eye to not only educate you on numerous Club aspects but also to give you insights into the finer points of strategy, gaming, and tactics used by the Club Members. The more whimsical and comedic aspects of the Campus are to both lighten the atmosphere and to remind you that everyone is simply here to have a good time!
Some of you might still be wondering, "is that it? I need more training!"
If you are still unsure about your skills on the battlefield, or feel you could use some extra coaching, whether Reb or Yank, feel free to contact Blake Strickler and he will happily engage you in a more advanced game than you did for your basic training. In your Advanced Training you will go over the major differences between the Union and Confederate mentalities in battle and how unit size is not necessarily as important as the number of units engaged and their quality. Expect to lose in these matches but to also learn a lot. A positive attitude and a willingness to learn from your mistakes are key.
UMA and VMI Trainers are also happy to offer a second game should you feel the need to review more aspects of gaming before taking on the grizzled veterans of the Club.
Everyone is also strongly encouraged to check out their War Library and return to it often while a Member of the Club. These libraries are constantly being updated and expanded to include as much information as possible about the games we know and love.
The staff here, both from the UMA side and the VMI side, wishes you nothing but the best during your time with the Club! Our doors will remain forever open to you. Y'all come back!
