WELCOME TO THE ACWGC'S

SURVEY OF MEMBERS

Gentlemen of the ACWGC,

Thank you for participating in this brief survey of our membership. You may recall a similar survey earlier in 2021. This is all part of an ongoing process to help us all learn more about who we are and what is important to us as a Club. Please answer the following questions and hit Submit at the bottom when completed. All surveys are anonymous unless you include personal information.

1. Please select your side of the Club.

Before we begin, we thought we’d like to ask everyone an open-ended question about what they like and/or dislike about the American Civil War Gaming Club.

In our last survey the results told us that the three most valued aspects of the ACWGC were: 1) Just playing the games, 2) Ease of finding opponents, and 3) Developing friendships. We’d like to follow up with this just a bit more.

1) Do you feel that the ACWGC did a good job in 2021 promoting those three most valued aspects of the Club?

Tell us more about this if you like...

2) The Club sponsored two large tournaments in 2021 aimed at increasing member gaming, introducing members to opponents they might not otherwise encounter, and creating new friendships on both sides of the club. If you participated in one of the tournaments what was your opinion of them, generally?

3) Many members game with a small group of close online friends within the Club. What is most important to you about those you game with on a daily/weekly basis? (Select one)

On the last survey we discovered roughly a third of our members are currently serving (or have served) as leaders in the Club’s hierarchy. Another third was interested in doing so while the other third was disinterested in it.

4) If you are interested in serving in a leadership role in the Club do you feel comfortable contacting those on your side of the Club in charge of making these decisions?

Tell us more about this if you like...

If you are not interested in serving in the Club's leadership roles (from Division Commander and up) feel free to explain why if you like.

5) Do you feel your opinion and input matters on your side of the Club specifically?

Tell us more about this if you like...

6) What is your general opinion of those in leadership roles on your side of the Club?

Tell us more about this if you like...

7) Do you always register your games at the Club's Department of Records?

Tell us more about this if you like...

8) Do you find the Department of Records easy to use?

Tell us more about this if you like...

The following are exploratory questions about a number of general topics for future possible consideration. Note, none of these issues are currently being discussed by the Cabinet or under consideration. They are merely to gauge the feelings of our Membership towards them.

9) The Club Rules establish that the only requirement to maintain membership in the ACWGC is to respond to mustering requests. Does the Club Mustering Process adversely affect your Club satisfaction?

Tell us more about this if you like...

As a follow up to question nine, how often are you asked to muster?
10) Currently promotions above the grade of Brigadier General require holding a leadership position of some sort within the Club. Do you feel promotions above Brigadier General should be reliant on leadership positions in the Club.

Tell us more about this if you like...

11) Current club rules specify “term limits” only for elected cabinet members (Club President, two CoA's and the four Secretaries). Should there be term limits on Army Commanders?

Tell us more about this if you like...
