The Official Campus Guidebook
1. The Commandant's House
This house, dedicated to Nick Kunz the longtime Commandant of VMI, is the first stop on any tour of the VMI Campus. New Cadets will be greeted by the Commandant and be given instructions on our core values here.
2. Basic Training
Before you can lead men into battle you must first understand the basics of the Games we play and how we play them. This training is meant to teach you the basic functionalities of the Club and how to perform them.
Reserved for future use.
4. Hall of Records
Our institute's records are stored here along with information on the Confederate army's medals, ribbons, and other awards.
5. Tutorial Theater
Filled with tutorial videos on our Games and other multimedia information this annex is an instrumental part of the instruction offered here at the Vicksburg Military Institute.
6. Forrest's Cavalry School
We have no greater advantage in the South than our splendid mounted arm. This school was established to help better prepare our graduates for the realities of cavalry actions they will see in the war.
7. Advanced Command School
Scheduled to open later in 2021! Check back later for more information!
8. Old CSA War College
The site of the original CSA War College. This site contains numerous older written works dealing with gaming. Note: while still open to Cadets many articles are no longer applicable with recent gaming updates.
9. Cadet's Barracks
Every Cadet's "Home Away From Home" here at VMI. Incoming Cadets can expect a shared room with at least two other Cadets, three mostly cooked meals a day in the mess hall, and hot water to bathe every Sunday.
10. VMI's Alumni Building
A Gentleman's Lounge, Smoking and Mint Juleps allowed, along with a complete listing of all the past graduates to grace the halls of VMI.
11. Advanced Training Building
After completion of your Basic Training we highly recommend spending some time going over the courses in Advanced Training to better prepare you for the field of battle.
12. Lake Ludwig
A peaceful spot to reflect on your studies here at VMI. Dedicated to the long time VMI Engineer, and Chief of the Armies, Scott Ludwig.
13. Phillips' Study Hall
Built in honor of the long serving Dean of Cadets, Thomas David Phillips, this Study Hall contains numerous quizzes and tests meant to challenge your understanding and preparation before graduation.
14. Graduation Hall
Graduation ceremonies are held here where you will find a number of valuable tips and insights to help you in your future career as an officer in the Confederacy.
15. The War Library
Looking for a good scenario? A large collection of scenario guides, maps, order of battles, and other information are found here. An invaluable source for Confederate officers!
